Saraswati puja

  Saraswati Puja

Mata Saraswati is the goddess of learning and knowledge.  They are worshiped on the fifth day of the bright half of the month of Magha, that is, Vasant Panchami.  Abir Gulal and Kumkum are planted on that day and this puja is performed with great pomp in all the schools and colleges of India.

The truth is that Saraswati Puja is the festival of all the students.  The worship of Saraswati has its own importance.  Our ancient sages have considered Saraswati as the mother or goddess of learning and knowledge.

She sits on the swan.  This swan is a symbol of knowledge, of truth and judgment.  The bright lotus is their seat, which is a symbol of simplicity and cleanliness.

Saraswatiji's clothes and color are also bright - Sarvshukla Saraswati.  This teaches us that those who want to acquire knowledge should not use colorful and expensive clothes.

Saraswati holds a Veena in one hand, which shows that music must be accompanied by learning.  This music makes life sweet and sweet.  Saraswati has a book in the other hand, which teaches knowledge, the biggest purpose of Saraswati Puja is that on this day we should surrender ourselves at the feet of Mother Saraswati with all mind, deed and words and pray to her to get good thoughts and knowledge.

Saraswati Puja is the biggest festival of the students.  For this, they start preparing a few days before the worship.  With full enthusiasm, collect donations from their locality, neighborhood and prepare for music, drama etc. on the occasion of worship.  A beautiful idol of Saraswati is made for worship, then it is decorated with beautiful clothes and installed at a place, the worship ends at 10 in the morning and then there is a crowd of people.

People receive prasad and bow before the goddess with their heads bowed.  In this way, the process of people coming and going for some time continues.  On this day, plays are played at night or music is organized, on the second day the idol is immersed.

The idol of Saraswatiji is immersed in a river or pond.  There is strange fun among the students on this day.  Everyone forgets discrimination among themselves.  All distinction of big and small disappears.

In the name of Saraswati Puja, at some places inappropriate actions are also done.  These actions destroy all the sanctity of worship.  On the one hand there is worship and on the other, lewd and dirty film songs are played through loudspeakers.

At some places, the students even fight amongst themselves.  A fight ensues.  At some places, it is also seen that in front of the statue of Goddess Saraswati, very light plays are played, dirty songs are sung, obscene dances are shown.  All these actions cause great harm to our civilization.  In the eyes of foreigners, we prove to be wild and uncivilized.

Students should avoid these evils.  Saraswati Puja brings to us the light of knowledge, teaches true learning and on that day we repeat the pledge that by reading and writing, we will raise our name, our family and the country's name, every year Saraswati Puja gives us such preaching.
